Wa, D.G.'s i9000 Bluetip fits perfectly within the gIove of their hometown's hardcore reputation, and they seem right at home on the well known Dischord brand. Under the path of maker and Fugazi aIum Ian MacKaye, théy turn out a effective and punchy collection of punk stone on their very first recording, with all thé post-punk splashes requisite to any correct students of the D.C. scene. Singer Jason Farrell offers an appealing, almost rockabilly yowl, and the band understands how to snéak in the catchy pop hooks and melodies amidst the harsh electric guitars and abundant, self-assuréd punk swagger. UnIess you pay out interest to the lining notes, most of the songs bleed collectively after a while, but this is a minor gripe; after aIl, we're talking punk rock, not really Baroque fugues. Bluetip provides, and they appear like they will just transcend the amount of their affects on future releases.
